Hunter Hammett

Sommelier, Jardinière, SF

Blending his discriminating palate, knowledge of wine, and love for fine dining service, Hammett has contributed as Lead Sommelier for The Mansion on Turtle Creek, Fearing’s at Ritz-Carlton, Dallas, and Michelin-starred Farmhouse Inn. He expanded his expertise directing the wine program for Pyramid Restaurant & Bar, Fairmont Dallas. Most recently, Hammett was the Sommelier at the landmark San Francisco restaurant, Jardinière, where he researched and selected unique varietals, orchestrated menu pairings and familiarized the staff with the extensive wine cellar under the guidance of Master Sommelier, Alan Murray.

Expanding on his sales and service skills, Hammett achieved his Certified Sommelier, Certified Specialist of Wine, WSET® London: Advanced Certificate with Distinction in Wine & Spirits, and Wine Century Club: Quattro Member credentials.

He is an engaged member of the wine community, participating through industry panels, wine blogs, newspapers, and charity functions. Hammett is also a tenured judge for The Dallas Morning News and Grapevine International wine competitions and has proctored several wine examinations through the Society of Wine Educators.

Hammett has successfully competed in numerous national beverage competitions. He was the recipient of theChalone Vineyard Educational Scholarship (2014) and the Australian Regional Wine Immersion Program (2012). Hammett was also the winner of the Ruinart Sommelier Challenge (2015), Chilean Wine Pairing Competition (2016)and the Iron Sommelier Competition (2013). He has been featured in GQ, Esquire andWine Spectator magazines for his outstanding dedication to wine and spirits.
