John Anthony Family of Wines

Founded by John Anthony Truchard from humble beginnings in vineyard management, employing skills learned from his father and other Napa Valley pioneers in the 1970’s. John Anthony Vineyards was the first label launched in 2003, comprising stunning single-varietal and vineyard-designate Napa Valley wines with a focus on classic Bordeaux varietals.

During the 2008 economic downturn John found opportunity and success with an approachable collection of Californian wines with the JaM Cellars label. The collection includes JaM Cabernet and the popular Butter releases: Butter Chardonnay, Butter Cab and Butter Bubbles. Butter has become the #2-selling chardonnay in the U.S. $12 and above.

Inspired by finding like-minded winegrowers in the emerging Paso Robles appellation, Serial Wines joins the John Anthony Family portfolio. This series of wines showcases Paso Robles and its sub-AVAs and Districts. Weather Wines is a return to John’s farming roots. Taking on the challenge of sensitive Burgundian varietals Weather selects cool-climate sites across California to produce pinot noirs and chardonnays that express the elements.
