History
Levrier by Jo Irvine is a small winery located in the Barossa Valley region of Southern Australia. Since 1988,Jo Irvine has received a lot of international applause for her winemaking. She knew that one day, she would like to launch her own label of handcrafted wines. Her father was also a top winemaker, as she spent time around the craft of winemaking from a very young age. She worked six vintages in California and Barossa Valley during her winemaking studies and in 2010, she established ‘Wine Wise,’ a 500-tonne processing facility, with her partner Peter and their two boys.
Levrier, means greyhound in French, the other love of Jo Irvine, in addition to winemaking.

Levrier, the name of the winery, is a French word that means greyhound. Jo chose this name to display her love of winemaking and greyhounds, who are both an essential part of her life for the last twenty years. She extends her support to the Greyhound Adoption Programme and has two greyhounds named Daphne and Georgie, who guard her office. All the grapes in her handcrafted wines grow in the Eden Valley and Barossa Valley vineyards. Proper gentle processing, along with aging in French oak barrels are common practice in her style of wine.
Wine
The wines made by Jo include Meslier, Pinot Gris, Merlot, Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Zinfandel grapes. The best grapes help in making their famous red, white, sparkling, and dessert wines. The Levrier Meslier Sparkling Rosé is one of the rarest wines in the world. Through her excellent work, Jo has received many awards and trophies, including a 5-Star rating at the 2019 James Halliday Wine Companion.
