Venturini Baldini’s Marchese Manodori wins a double gold and the Best Sparkling Wine of the Year at the Sommeliers Choice Award, held on May 15 in San Francisco, USA.
Venturini Baldini’s Marchese Manodori is made from the best grapes available in the Venturini vineyard. Their vineyards cover about a fifth of the 130-hectare estate and are mostly located in a hilly area that is between 300 and 400 meters above sea level. The rows are planted in clay and sandy soils that face southeast and southwest. They also have an organic vineyard to voluntarily control the production to ensure the quality of their grapes. Apart from Lambrusco grapes like Sorbara, Grasparossa, and Salamino the estate also grows Malvasia di Candia Aromatica, Pinot Nero, Pinot Meunier, and Pinot Grigio.
Venturini Baldini has been famous for its premium quality wines produced in Emilia since 1976. Their wines are authentic and born in the Emilian winemaking tradition. They are innovative as well as inspiring.
To offer their customers the best quality of wine they manually harvest their grapes. Their team of expert oenologists and consultants meticulously pick the grapes to ensure the ideal organoleptic and aromatic characteristics. When you taste Venturini Baldini’s Marchese Manodori you can feel the fruity flavors of blueberries and blackberries on your palate with hints of tannins and your nose will be filled with the fresh aromas of tart blueberry, ripe blackberry, black cherry, and blue plum. Marchese Manodoiri received a double gold and the award for best sparkling wine at the Sommeliers Choice Award, one of the most renowned wine competitions.
In 1976, the agricultural estate Venturini Baldini was established on a historic estate in the hills between Parma and Reggio Emilia, in the Reggio Emilia region. The hills, which rise to a height of 370 meters, create an ideal microclimate for growing grapes, with the sun penetrating through the winter fog and cool greenery soothing the summer heat. The 130-hectare estate with 30 hectares of woodland and pastures was one of the first in Emilia Romagna to receive organic certification. The estate is not only surrounded by beautiful natural landscapes, but it also has a rich historical background that was built on Matildic foundations. The present Villa Manodori dates from the early 16th century and still reflects the glory days of the noble families who once called it home.
