Michael Meagher MS

Principal- Sommelier on Demand Hospitality Services

Michael is a hospitality and wine industry leader with over 25 years of experience across the full route to market, from on-premise operations to global supplier strategy. He currently serves as Principal at Sommelier on Demand Hospitality Services, advising hospitality groups, retailers, and private clients on wine program development, revenue optimization, and guest experience design.

Most recently, Michael was Director of B2B Sales at Coravin, where he played a key role in expanding the adoption of wine preservation systems across restaurants and retail. He also serves as Chair of the Board of Directors for the Court of Master Sommeliers, Americas, contributing to industry standards through his leadership in governance and ethics.

His career includes senior roles with Treasury Wine Estates, Jackson Family Wines, and Vineyard Road, alongside nearly a decade running a successful hospitality consulting business serving Fortune 500 companies and private clients.

Michael holds a bachelor’s degree from Harvard University, an associate’s degree from the Culinary Institute of America, and a master’s degree from the University of Adelaide, along with the WSET Diploma. He has earned international recognition on the sommelier competition circuit, including winning the National Best Young Sommelier title and placing second in the Best Young Sommelier in the World competition.

He has contributed to leading industry publications including the Journal of Culinary Science and Technology, Guild of Sommeliers, and The Somm Journal, and was featured in the book Dark Horse: Achieving Success Through the Pursuit of Fulfillment.

Based in Groton, Massachusetts, Michael continues to bring a global perspective to his work, shaped by extensive travel across Europe, Asia, Australia, and North America.
