KECHRIS winery is a modern family business that is carrying forward a century-old tradition in the production of quality wines, with an emphasis on retsinas, featuring:
- Kechribari, a dynamic and balanced fresh retsina,
- Afros, slightly hazy and fizzy,
- Roza, the unique rosé barrel aged Xinomavro and
- The Tear of the Pine, a barrel aged Assyrtiko with vast food pairing and aging potential.
We also use our expertise to showcase the expressive terroir and varieties of Northern Greece with Genesis dry red, rosé and white (PGI Macedonia), and Xinomavro, Fourth Dimension red and white (PGI Slopes of Paiko).
The guidelines that have shaped its creative path are: devotion to quality, zest for innovation, and respect for tradition. Our fundamental strategic aim has always been to redefine the quality parameters of retsina and establish this unique Greek wine as a world-class product.
KECHRIS winery continues its dynamic growth both in Greece and abroad, with 30% of its annual production of 2,300,000 bottles exported to more than 30 countries worldwide.
The history of KECHRIS winery begins more than a century ago, at the family tavern in the old part of Thessaloniki. Thanks to the quality of the wine produced, using must brought by ships from southern Greece, demand for wine rapidly increased. The first family winery was founded in 1954 in Kalochori.
Today, KECHRIS winery, the winery of Thessaloniki, has moved into a new phase, offering wine lovers an opportunity to sample its wines in the place where they are made. Emphasis is put on education and interaction, always with the aim to create a unique experience that combines enjoyment and acquisition of valuable knowledge on retsina and indigenous Greek varieties.
