When Rajat Parr and Sashi Moorman started Sandhi, their mission was to change the perception of California Pinot Noir and Chardonnay and prove that California does indeed have terroir. They believed — and still believe — that the Sta. Rita Hills is as complex and dynamic as the world’s greatest wine appellations. Of these wines, the Chardonnays are the most profound. The transverse hills, shale-laced soils, warm sun and cooling afternoon breeze make the Sta. Rita Hills ideal for the cultivation of this grape.
